I have had a few paranormal events in my life, my sister who worked as a nurse in the now closed St Bart's Hospital in London had a number of creepy experiences as did her friends.
The hospital was well known for phantom patient and ghosts of nurse's, including "Pinkie's ward". Doctors and nurses would hear a whisper "Check it! Check it!" when administering drugs at night. Patients would often refuse medicine saying a nurse in a pink uniform had already given it to them.
Sleepy nurses were shaken awake if they dozed on the job. Nurse Pinkie had killed a patient in a mistaken overdose at night, misreading a label and had subsequently committed suicide. Sounds like a good yarn until you saw the dread on my sister's face, hoping she wouldn't be assigned there. It was no joke. She checked the drugs in the light of the corridor room before administering them instead of doing it by torchlight. She and a colleague made sure they stuck together.
My Sisters unexplained event came one night when an alarm went off in the lavatories on one of the wards. My sister and a colleague rushed to the locked cubicle to assist the distressed patient. It took some time to open the lock using a pair of scissors. There was hammering on the door. They reassured the patient that they were there to help and would be with them in a few seconds. They opened the door and there was no one there. They reset the alarm and in quite a panic went back to the ward. Going off duty the following morning, they reported the incident to the ward sister. They were informed it was a regular event and that the area was always freezing cold.
