I was staying in the Narborough Arms Hotel/Inn in Leicestershire in the early 90s, I think it was 1991. I was staying in Room 12 if I remember right. Room 12 and 13 were once used as a church and are supposed to be haunted. After a night out, I had been drinking although not intoxicated I went to my room. I lay in bed on my back trying to get to sleep when I felt something landing on the lower part of my legs. It felt as if a cat or dog had jumped onto the bed. I got up and put the light on and checked the room but there was nothing there.
I went back into bed thinking how strange an experience that was. I then put my head on the pillow and immediately I felt a massive surge go through me from my toes and out my head. It moved in a zigzag pattern and was very powerful, this scared me like nothing I d experienced before. I got out of bed put the light back on and once again checked the room. Again I found nothing. I went back to bed in disbelief at what had happened.
I am not into ghost stories but I swear to God this is true. I had been drinking but I have never experienced anything like it at any other time in my life.
The Hotel/Inn dates back to 1600, and at least once in its long history it was used as a church. The Narborough Arms is located at 6 Coventry Road in Narborough. There have been reports by guests and staff of a ghostly figure in a shroud walking through solid walls.
