That was not the end of it. As I became more familiar with this assignment, I spoke with the dog patrol guard who used to come in at night. He would often return from his solo patrol with his Doberman saying he has seen shadows and figures in the gardens again. He was not in the least afraid. I witnessed his dog refusing to be dragged up one of the staircases on an internal patrol. It was a big animal and it wouldn't budge. Then one night I received a call from Control informing me that a guard on site had not returned back from patrol, please could I attend. He was a young student, studying PE and very full of himself! I'd met him on a few occasions. On arrival the ambulance had been and gone. With the security crew one down I would have to stay.
The young man had taken radio and torch and had gone on a patrol. He'd been in one of the wards on the top floor. Some of the lights were on but the lighting was low level. A ghost had walked towards him and brushed/passed through him. He fainted and collapsed. He was found and recovered by the other guard and helped to the office where he was in deep shock. I never did see him again but I heard he quit his work as a security guard.
I have plenty of ghostly accounts from back then from solid, genuine individuals who I met in the course of my work. Of course ghosts exist and they are natural phenomenon, they can be created in a laboratory (which does not disprove them, quite the opposite) we just don't have the science yet to unlock it. A bit like a black hole - Einstein's theory of relativity doesn't work or fit with them, oh and neither does quantum physics by the way. I saw a typical replay/recording or was a time slip? What is really intriguing are the interactive and poltergeist activities: the black holes of the ghost phenomena.
