ICEY BLASTS

Story written by Sherran Maxwell

About 25 years ago I lived in an old Victorian house which was approx 100 years old in Leytonstone, East London, which had been converted into 2 flats. I had the downstairs flat. One afternoon I was ironing in the kitchen when what I can only describe as an extremely powerful icy cold wind hit me from behind and almost blew me off of my feet.

Ii have very long heavy hair and it literally blew my hair completely from the back of my head over the front of my face, I had to hold on to my ironing board to stop it blowing me out of the door at the other end of the room!

In disbelief I went up into the living room to ask my boyfriend if he had opened a door or a window. He looked at me as if I was mad. I was completely windswept standing there like an idiot, he could have removed the front of the house and it wouldn't have caused anything like that!

I lived there for 15 years in all and it never happend again. But between the upstairs and downstairs flats we did have a few strange bumps in the night and things going missing and turning up in strange places, but nothing like the icy blast.
