My parents purchased a public house it had been in a very poor state and needed serious TLC. My folks had plans for the upstairs to be converted into a bed and breakfast. Contractors came in and completely altered the layout of the premises and 6 rooms were created. This is when whatever was there made its presence known tools would go missing and appear days later in the most strangest of places.
My sister and brother in-law moved in, once the pub was habitual, within weeks of moving in they told us that they would often here footsteps coming from the loft above the living quarters (the loft was inaccessible at the time). My sister told me that when she was alone in the building sometimes the walls would vibrate and shake from time to time, doors would shut, electrical items such as the microwave would ping in the middle of the night.
The strange happenings quietened down somewhat over the summer months and the bed and breakfast rooms were finished. Come the winter time the paranormal activity returned, the clock above the bar would fly off the wall, this happened several times narrowly missing the staff who worked there by inches.
On one particular day we had to shut for the afternoon, I was with my dad, when the main internal door opened fully then closed 5 seconded later another set of doors opened and closed. We decided after this it would be best to call somebody, we arranged for a medium to visit the property. The medium told us that there was more than one spirit in the house, she had felt the presence of 2 men and a little girl. We asked her what we could do, and she told us that she would attempt to move them over to the other side. For several days all was quiet and we believed the ceremony had been a success.
Mum & Dad had gone out for the evening leaving me to watch TV and order pizza. My parents returned 11.30pm I heard the door open and I got out of bed to get a drink and ask them about their evening. When I returned upstairs I found a large teddy bear on my pillow, I had only been downstairs for just a few minutes. The teddy bear had not previously even been in my room, it had been on top of a wardrobe in my sister's old bedroom.
My parents stared in disbelief my mum picked it up and put it back in my sisters room. I joked to my parents that perhaps the ghosts had followed us home, but as you can imagine I didn't sleep a wink that night as teddy bears don't get up and move all by them selves!
Several weeks later I was in bed watching TV, when I saw a bright ball of light through the frosted glass in my door. I got up to investigate and immediately thought my dad was playing a prank with a torch as this is something he would do. I stared at the ball of light for about 3 or 4 seconds opened the door and nothing my folks were soundly asleep. Again I didn't sleep well being a logical person I had no rational answer to what it might have been.
A couple of months went by and I started to forget about my experiences. I decided to spring clean my bedroom, I was alone in the house mum and dad had gone out for the day. Once I had finished I went out to meet a friend for lunch, around 6pm I drove home, my parents were still out. I heard my phone ringing so went to answer it, when I noticed a stuffed toy perched on my TV; it definitely was not there before.
I believe the little girl's ghost the medium had identified at my parents guesthouse had followed me home. I suffer from a form of dwarfism so my conclusion was that she thought I was still a child. This activity carried on and off for around 1 and half years, she has always brought me toys. In the end I decided to leave them where ever she put them, I've got used to it now and it doesn't bother me like it used to as I know she means no harm :-) all is quiet for now but for how long is anybody's guess!
