Cochran Road House
In 1978 my family and I bought a house in my home town . We were raising a family and wanted to stay out in the country . Our house was a 50 year old ranch style house with 16 acres of land, with a long winding driveway with dogwood tree's in full bloom on each side of the drive way .
After buying the house and moved in the following week. It wasn't long before it seem to come alive. While making dinner one night with a friend, we both heard a male voice call out my name. Wondering who had come in, we looked every where to see who had called me. There was no one in sight.
A few weeks went by and we were sitting on the sofa watching TV and from the corner of my eye, I saw a tall dark figure pass down the hall. The house had no exit if you passed down the hall, so you must come back up the same way you went down, so there could be no mistaking what we had seen.
This became to be a daily thing, someone would see him every day . This went on for the 20 years we lived in the house. The ghostly figure seemed to walk the same exact trail each time as if it were a instant replay or like a rewind of an old film. It appeared as if it was looking for something. However, it seemed harmless and never was scary.
Years later we had a ghost that haunted the master bed room, this was a different ghost, it was loud and scary. It was hitting the wall above my head as i tried to sleep, bumping the foot of my bed and jarring me awake. This went on for months, leaving me tired and sleep deprived.
I was sleeping in the den on the floor. It was if it wanted me out of the room. Later I spoke to a friend of mine who had studied the paranormal, he said to ask it to leave me alone in a nice way. Crazy as it seemed, this seemed to work as far as the noises were concerned.
It was still there and I could feel it. I would lay in the bed and watch the bedroom door open and close, it was the strangest thing I ever saw. We sold the house to my son in 1996 and the ghost still haunts Cochran Road House till this day.
