My experience with the paranormal happened when I was 7 years old I am now 43 and still think about what happened. I was not the only one I was with my brother Allen who was 6 years old, and my cousin Keith who was 8 years old.
My brother and I lived in a small 3 bedroom house which had a closet under the stairs. The closet narrowed as it came to the bottom of the stairs; it was used as storage space.
Our family and my cousin's family were all at the house, my brother and I were playing hide and seek with our cousins. Allen, Keith and I all went to hide under the stairs; we ran in and shut the door.
Immediately we noticed the room was different there was a stairway leading down into the ground it was made with really old looking stones, and there was flickering light coming from up from below. Being curious kids we started to go down the stairs Allen first then me and Keith behind me as we ventured further down the stairs the light was getting brighter and we saw it was coming from a fire.
I was now getting scared I pushed Allen to continue down to the bottom, Keith followed him. The fire was in the middle of the room with a cauldron on top of it. The room seemed to be empty I could only here the crackle from the fire.
As my eyes explored the room I noticed what seemed at first like a shadow with what seemed to look like a 3 pronged fork coming up from behind and over to the right of the cauldron as if it was being put up into the air. When I saw the arm holding the 3 pronged fork I screamed Allen, Keith and I all ran back up the stairs that was enough for all of us. We were all upset in what we had seen and we did not really talk about what had happened.
We all eventually told our parents a few weeks later what had happened and they just laughed it off. Over the years I have talked t o Keith about what happened, and he basically says he saw the same as me he still wonders about it himself. Allen does not like to talk about it, he admits it happened but will not discuss it. I often wonder what Allen saw as he was down 3 or 4 more steps than me and Keith perhaps he saw a lot more.
I still wonder today what was it that we saw if anyone has any ideas what it could be please let me know as I am interested, I have tried to forget but it still prays on my mind.
