Royal County Down is a feast of great golf holes between which is a layout of breathtaking beauty. However, there is little time to enjoy the scenery here as every hole is lined with treacherous hazards. Royal County Down is widely regarded as one of the finest tests in world golf, as well as being one of the most beautiful. Tom Watson describes the front nine as the best he has ever played.

Dr Laidlaw Purves of the Royal Wimbledon Golf Club designed and established St Georges Club in 1887. Named St. George's, it was to become the English rival to Scotland's St. Andrew's. In 1894 the Club hosted its first British Open Championship, the first time the Open was played south of the Scottish border. Royal status was bestowed on the Club by King Edward VII in May 1902.

Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey is widely regarded as one of the best inland golf clubs in England. The West course is familiar to millions of television viewers world-wide through the annual PGA and World Match Play Championships, staged in May and September respectively. The closing holes provide a true test of golf and make Wentworth quite unique in the fact that it closes with back to back par 5's.
